I have an 08 sv6 manual. I hate the change from second to third. I wanted to know if there was a rip shifter I could get for it? Had a chat with the blokes at power torque and they said you couldn't. Any suggestions.
Try not to shift from 2nd to 3rd. Seriously, try this... Just push it forward out of second and let it find its own way to third. So many people try to shift when all you really need to do is guide the stick. Apologies for those that don't understand what I mean.
CSP is spot on. Don't over-think it. Let the spring (which seems to be significantly stronger in the VEs than previous models) do what it's designed to do and centre the stick for you. If you just shove it with the heel of your hand it will slot straight in every time. By actually 'shifting' from second to third with the spring's assistance, you'll smack it into the gate. Save the money you'd spend on a shifter for something more fun!
Thanks for helping with explaining that one tinsnips! You can shift almost as fast with the factory shifter as you can with a RipShifter. Not only that, it's not noisy as hell like the RipShifter.
