Hey just wondering if it is possible to drain the oil from a vortec side mount supercharger back to the engine via one of the rocker covers buy drilling a hole in it and tapping a fitting in there rather then in the oil sump.

    cheers mitch

    no no no
    its different oil
than engine oil like a diff?
you can change the oil in them easily enough anyway!~
why do you want to do this noisy?
if so do an oil change can pick it up from repco and holden its not that expensive

haha wtf my supercharger vortec v-1 gets an oil feed from the engine by tapping in a t peice from the oil sender unit and the oil runs in a braided line to the supercharger and is supposed to drain back to the oil sump in the engine? you may be talking about a self contained unit that vortech make now with there own resovior etc

hmm if it was designed to use engine oil that would be ok...
the standard chragers on the v6's (which i thought we were talking about lol)
use a special oil you know the standard ecotec ones? vs vy vt? i think there all the same (standard anyway)

I wouldnt, they drain to the sump because thats the quickest and most direct way to get the oil out of the supercharger, if there is a restriction in the oil drain it will do all kinds of damage to the charger & your engine....
