    Hey guys,

So it turns out my rocker cover gaskets are leaking. Its going to cost me a ton to get them replaced by holden and i figure its something that i can do. Anyway what i need to know is do i need to use gasket goo for these ones and is there anything i should keep in mind or look out for when doing em?

these gaskets are re-usable. take the rocker cover off, clean the gaskets and put back on and tighten. no sealant needed.

it is a very easy job mate, have you tried giving them a little extra tighten?

make sure you have a small extension for your socket set for the drivers side rear most bolts though :p

The gaskets are around $50 for the pair I think and a drop or two of silicone sealant doesnt hurt to ensure the gasket stays in place while you refit the rocker cover.

I.E ad a few dots around and stick the gasket down to the cover, let it set for 30 minutes then do the refit.

Sounds like a good oppurtunity to paint the covers :p

ah ok cool... yeah i went to sprint auto parts and its $16.50 a gasket but is it going to be worth it if the gaskets are re-usable... cheers for the info dannyboy, been thinking bout painting the engine cover as well so i may as well do the rockers to match :p
