Thermostat if not already done?
You mean the keyhole surgery where you have to dismantle half the car to replace a $20 thermostat?

Would this be ok for intake tubing? (reason being, the intake tubing sit on the radiator and gets quite hot)
Or am I better off getting the tape? I already have this exhaust wrap laying around and so if I can use that with the chance of keeping the pipe cooler, I would like to.

Mate I appreciate that a million hey. Thought my ride this whole time was an 08' model. So in saying that, with what I have read, That my vehicle should have the revised timing chains and all that goodness?

Yes. And there will be a date on the silver plate under the bonnet as well. Hopefully the date on the plate matches the one from your VIN :)

plate under the bonnet says "Built - MAR08" guessing obviously means march 2008. Seems odd

Agree. Does that same plate have a vin number on it as well? Does it match the one in the windscreen and the one on your rego paper?

The last six numbers are your Sequential production number.

So you seem to have a 2009 built VE 4 door executive/sv6 with @ 3.6l dual fuel v6.

The above linked thread also states the following

Built plate year (and thus rego year) of Sept through to Dec will have the model year after. Eg A car built in Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec in 2017 (and registered as a 2017 built car) will be a 2018 model (ZB Commodore with a year code of J).

So it’s still confusing why your build plate shows March 2008 build date but a 2009 build.

I‘d check the VIN located on bottom passenger side windscreen matches the VIN located on the compliance sticker placed on the passenger side B pillar matches the VIN located on yne build plate placed on yje left side strut tower within engine compartment matches the VIN stamped on the floor under the drivers seat.

If there are any mismatches, you have a problem and if you bought it at a dealer then they must sort it out…

Holden Customer (couldn’t) Care also provide (or use to provide) details about specific cars but these days, who knows… The janitor may not know how to get to the data.…
