ok so once you take ur roof out by taking of the plastic coverings around the edges and the handles n light, you need to scrape the orange foam off then once its clean and you have your new lining all ready to go i covered the cardboard with Selleys "Quick Grip" from bunnings, i used a 1 litre can and it was like 20 bucks. then leave it til it goes a bit sticky then lay your new lining on it very carefully and make sure u press it all down firmly, leave it over night then i used a hot glue gun to glue the edges to the underside of the cardboard roof then cut out the holes for the handles n ****.

I didnt put new foam in jsut cos i couldnt be bothered and i thought it would last a bit longer without it.

As for the mirror, i dunno. i have had the car about a year and havent changed it but i guess it would just stick on

If you have any probs you can email me at hedge_hog2388@hotmail.com

Cheers mate for the info much appreciated. Sounds like Dave's stuff Selleys sounds like a goa. I like the Southern Cross you did that turned out really good ay. I will prob just stick with a plain canvas and that should be hard enough for me. Would like to have something like that though.
    Cheers again mate!

cheers, it wasnt too hard. i stitched the stars onto the vinyl before i glued it onto the cardboard, you could take it to a professional embroider and they might charge you like 100 bucks or so cos its on such a big piece of material and its kinda awkward. it just took me ages to sew the stars on cos i did it by hand and sewing isnt really one of my most favourite past times.

also becareful with the glue as it said that it may soak through some thinner fabrics and leave stains/darker marks. its ok for vinyl cos its so thick and kinda has a backing to it
