Well I "accidentally" bought myself another kingswood, so here it is:

Model: 1979 HZ Kingswood Ute
Colour: White
Engine: 202 red motor
Transmission: 3 speed column shift manual
Bodywork: Stock
Wheels/Tyres: Dragways
Audio: Kenwoood head unit and broken 6x9" fusion speakers
Engine Mods: nope
Exhaust: Perry extractors, 2 1/2 exhaust, hotdog, and nothing else...

Future mods: Resto, respray, install sun visor, new bench seat, actually fit a muffler, maybe a 253 v8 next year

How it was when i got it

Yes...those are commodore stockies jammed on the back (shudder)

Stuff I've done since buying

As the ute pulled horribly to the left under braking, that was the first thing I started work on

First i pulled the driver's side caliper off

This is how the piston was when I pulled it off

The piston was seized, so with the help of compressed air I busted the caliper all apart, and found it like this inside

But that was soon fixed with a bit of brake fluid and polish
20130314_180825_zps681356bd.jpg

After that everything went back together much nicer

The other brake-related issue I found was on the passenger's side:

Unless I am mistaken that hose is a little....short
Unfortunately in trying to undo that sucker i snapped the metal pipe that attaches to the flexable brake hose

And thats pretty much where I'm up to with the brakes, still trying to find a replacement brake line

1st off, not a bad start, take the calipers off, and see if you can swap sides,

I'll go look at mine later, I had pbrs but changed to alloy girlocks and had to fiddle with the hoses to fit, if you can swap sides, it may fix the problem.
When I fitted the girlocks, I had to take out the locator pin from the flexible hose to the caliper so I could turn it around any it gave it enough room as they had different hose locations between the two.

As for The visor, the middle bar needs some rubber and a couple of bolts and washers. And the out sides are basically clamps, again, when I've got time, I'll take my ends off and document for you.

Oh, and for god sake, get rid of the stockies before you snap a stud!

Bought myself a wire wheel yesterday and had a bit of a go on the floor. Im pretty pleased with the results...here is the passenger side floor, the worst side.

Before:

and after:
20130403_180500_zps9b1b6334.jpg

I know I still got a bit of work to do, but i am pretty pleased with the start i've made, and there arnt as many holes as i was fearing.

As for the driver's side its rust free. There was a hole at one point but its been cut and welded which im pretty pleased about.

The stockies will be off as soon as I can get the car my mates hoist and bash 'em off, the douche who owned the ute before me rammed the stockies on with a rattle gun....its already lost one wheel stud :bomb:

Well I finally got off my ass and picked up a set of vice grips. After nearly two weeks of stuffing around it took me two seconds to get the pesky brake line off :bang:
So the good news is that on Monday I should have a new set of brake lines courtesy of the good people at Pirtek :)

Here you go.

Centre piece, some rubber cut to the same shape and I'm guessing machine screws, I haven't been inside my roof lining.
But I would imagine there'd be a nut and washer on the other side.

Outside end, two some nuts just bolts that flat plate to the visor.

Inside door frame.

Just uses the same screws as the windscreen trim, and this is what holds it in place.

They're a pain in the arse to get on and off, but they need to come off for every windscreen change!

Mines been off twice
