I have had a Xforce catback and otr air filter installed and tuned to E85 (United) at 2000ks.
The first time I filled up with E85 was the same day of the tune and drove about 100ks with e85 before the tune.
Next morning on cold start and there after for 3 tanks full, cold starts were an issue so I changed back to 98 fixing the cold start issue.

I have read that I may need to change the injectors and am not prepared to do this at this stage.

    My question is

    Do I have to get a re-tune to suit the 98 ?

My tuner guy tells me that it is not necessary but I have read otherwise

Why would you have to replace the injector if it was made to run on both ethanol and regular petrol?

If you're going to primarily run it on 98 then retune it for 98.

He may be thinking bigger injectors as the engine requires more fuel with e85.
But with just a mild tune n no major engine mods,I wouldn't think it would warrant it.

Haha! It is not one table for either, tunes are seperate so its fine to have pure ethanol tune or pure 98 tune or mix (flex fuel). Tuned for e85 is not at the expense of using any other fuel.

So what if is shitty for bit when cold if it goes better, and if it doesn't ask for your money back.

What exactly do you mean, 'cold starts were an issue'?
If it starts and drives, no issue.

Not starting properly, like flooding or starving for a few seconds then fine.
If I put my foot on the accelerator a smidge it starts fine but not acceptable.
My tune guy tells me the vf has a sensor that adjusts between the different fuels, therefore same tune for e85/98
    Am I a mushroom ???

While it does adjust the tune based on ethanol content not setting up a proper tune will see issues like listed.

Your car should be tuned to run both as in they tune it on a tank of 98 and then on a tank of e85 so you can run either fuel no problems. Your tuner needs to sort his ****!
