Hello, I've been working on my VP a lot in the past few months, last week I was removing some marks from my door with some Tee Tree oil and it simply rubbed off what I thought was the paint fading, and was told it simply needs a cut and polish! Since the quarter panels were never faded, just the doors (or so I thought), does anyone know of any decent rust repairers? I've got various spots on the doors and some bad paint chipping/rusting on the bonnet that I would like fixed. Thank you, Chris
cant remember what the rust things called ill post the name up here 2morow got it from bigw for $9 n its the best lol... well first u put that on it and wait for it to convert it into sum weird looking colour, or start of fileing sanding it off till theres no rust use the rust converter over it.. u gotta wait a whole day , sand again put putty primer wateva.. then paint over it, i had many many rusts my friend n this is the only way i fixed it its been 4-5months no signs of rust nowhere!
This may be more than what you need. But it's about rust and the rear window. http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...-1988-1993/48669-rust-around-back-window.html
brotha i had rust everywhere.. back front windows.. where the spare tyre goes in the boot.. u name it :| just hose the car down with the rust converter
Yes, my tyre well is also rusted through. It makes me wonder if my car was once retrieved from the bottom of a lake. :supersad:
Could have been - but the rusted spare wheel spot is probably the rear qtr window leaking. Back seat out remove trim (normally shatters) undo the 3 plastic nuts and pop the window out. Reseal with quality sealer from a car paint supply shop. Or could be the tail lights. To test get a jug of water and por it onto the roof so it flows into the gutter channel - have the boot open and spare out. Watch for the Niagra falls. There is a thread on fix water in boot. Very common problem
I'm guessing it would have been the tail lights, although when I purchased the car no water was getting in, so it must have been a while ago.
Unfortunately, they didn't fix the big hole on the bottom of my boot, causing me to grind a tyre well out from another VP.
hardstylin, i work in a panel shop in richmond pm me if you like and ill give you some details if you want to come and get a quote
