bought my vp privately and thought i was getting a good buy $1500 with gas and 3 years left before retesting , wow what a bargain. however just lately the handling was a bit strange if not dangerous sometimes. put it over a hoist and found that at some stage its had a hit on the front. thewishbones, link pins, radious rods are bent if not twisted , then theirs the steering rack , harmonic balancer water pump, front seal has to be done as well plus some bushes, not happy jan i can tell you. have had a couple of quotes 1-$990 using a lot of new parts but will stretch budjet too much as aircon has to be done 2-$770 this one is a little bit better but using mainly s/h parts from a low k wreck that has just come in.
    Hmmmmm cars i just cannot win a f----n trick:bang:

That's why for the small amount it costs its worth getting an RAA inspection done, other wise it is buyer beware.....

It's an old car sellling for a cheap price. What else would you expect?

It's normal for the following things to be failing in an old car: steering rack, harmonic balancer water pump, front seals, bushes

Hmmm, still a good buy though even with those problems.
