I went through the manual to have a look and for what ever reason, the VY has the dash extend down under there. The VZ doesn't.
You'd have to get a dremmil and cut away the plastic of the dash in that bit.
Or the long game is to replace the pad with a VZ one.

And it is not like that either (above right.) Confused.
Mine has a 'fat' T piece board, the base of the T fits into the hole shown at the front, and screwed to those 2 nut-serts, and the arms of the T slot into holes just above the Phillips heads. Whole thing is very rigid, and I don't know the purpose of it, but I'm not going to pull it out.
