I own a SV6 VE Manual.

Does anyone know how to turn off or disconnect any of the safety systems. When ever I try to start a burnout the I hear this thud noise that's repeated a couple of times. This is with the traction off of course. I've tried both 1st and second gear starts but it only seems to happen when the road is dry. In the wet i can keep it going, but lets be honest hear that's not impressive at all in the wet.

Any suggestions, or information on what causes this would be much appreciated.

Please note that all this is done on private driveways on a friends property, and is never done on public roads or areas.

Had an sv6 as a work car....to do a burnout you gotta mash the brakes, mash the throttle and then ever so slightly release the brakes and just roll forward...she will start spinning up
It's the same for manuals

You've got the Varex exhaust, close it right up, if its wide open the lack of back pressure seems to shut them down.

Disabling safety would void your insurance I would think.

Wont this apply the back brakes aswell ?

Happened before the Varex but i'll give it a shot next time.

I'm thinking if you're doing a burnout (sustained loss of traction = possible impound of the car in some states), i doubt your insurance would mean a thing anyway.

No worries lighting the rears in a VE with traction turned off.
The only thud I get is axle tramp occasionally in the dry..

Assuming you are doing this on legit skidpans and closed roads.

I'm honestly surprised that you are having issues in a manual, dump the clutch a little more and throw more power should get you going. These newer cars aren't great at destroying themselves (which is basically what a burnout is doing).

The SV6 doesn't have quite as much torque, you may struggle to do decent burnouts without that grunt the SS's have - Im not bagging 6's FYI, I have one and love it.

My advice, live without burnouts.
