My Samsung Note 2 is just over two years old. Until recently, it was connected to Virgin, which uses the Optus network.
I reside near the vineyards in the Hunter Valley, about 40km west of Newcastle. In early this year, the Virgin service was reasonable, I'd give it about 8.5/10 for access and connection speed. However, for around five months, the phone seemed to get slower connecting and black spots became more common. There were large areas of the vineyards where no service was available. I'd have rated the service at the time of changing providers, to 2/10. It was ****.
I dumped Virgin and tried Telstra, assuming their coverage would fill the gaps in the Optus network. Nup, the coverage didn't improve, nor did the access speed. My phone seemed to be getting very slow connecting to the internet, regardless of where I was, unless I had a very st
