All the LSs are OBDII, 304s are ALDL. Holden wasn't going to go to the cost of engineering and implementing a new ECU for just adding OBDII to the Ecotec if they could avoid it. The LS and its engine management was introduced in 97, one year after the US's mandatory OBDII thing so it already had it.
