Hey all. I literally JUST made an account on this site in the hopes that there is an angel on here who can help me with my wiring woes. I've got a VT Exec S2 and am trying to put a cheap Schneider sd660ui head deck in. I've cut the loom, downloaded diagrams, reconfigured the wiring 3 times, gotten a loom converter which DIDN'T FIT my head deck and am now at wits end. Is there anybody who can help me get this thing installed and working??? (I am completely new to this so try to dumb it down if possible)
you will need to post up the schneider wiring colours and what they are supposed to connect to as I can't find a list for them
This is the wiring chart for the head deck. Thanks lout. I hope this helps you help me. Hahahaha. Power - Red (+) Memory 12V+ - Yellow(Fused) Ground (-) - Black Auto Antenna - Blue Front left speaker (+) - White (-) - White/Black Front right speaker (+) - Grey (-) - Grey/Black Rear left speaker (+) - Green (-) - Green/Black Rear right speaker (+) - Violet (-) - Violet/Black
I'm assuming I'll have to splice multiple wires from the VT to single wires in the head deck. I just can't figure out the correct layout for it.
Ok find the loom that went to your old head unit old loom ... schneider wiring ... function orange/black ... yellow ... memory always 12v yellow ... red ... accesories 12v yellow/red ... blue ... power aerial black/white ... black ... ground grey ... ... dash lights dim function grey ... white/black ... front left speaker - light brown ... white ... front left speaker + yellow/blue ... green/black ... rear left speaker - brown/black ... green ... rear left speaker + green ... grey/black ... front right speaker - light green ... grey ... front right speaker + blue/black ... violet/black ... rear right speaker - blue/orange ... violet ... rear right speaker + note there are 2 grey wires they will probably be different thickness one goes to speaker should be same size type as other speaker wiring there are other wires that control phone mute etc but not listed whether thay are 12v or ground make these connections and then see how it goes it is never as easy as the shop makes it sound, good luck
old loom ... schneider wiring ... function ^^^^ Does that mean function will happen once it's all hooked up? Sorry bro but as I said, I'm really new to this. Thanks for your patience.
function is what that wire will do so for instance your schneider unit does not have a dimming function for the display so one of the commodore grey wires will just be taped up if you know what each wire does it makes diagnostics a lot easier later on
Would it be easier to match wires if I splice it to the old loom before connecting it to the harness?
if you have a commodore adaptor harness, plug that into commodore loom, then look which wire adaptor would connect to, for example yellow on commodore loom may go to red on adaptor harness. lable this wire as accy or schneider colour then label each wire on the adaptor for function or schneider colour code then remove adaptor and splice into schneider head unit then plug it in
