gonna be hard pressed to get someone who is good and cheap. where in melb are you? east, north? no point suggesting someone in dandy if youre out melton

what i would suggest is get a couple quotes, then check your insurance excess (sp?) and weight up your options.

sorry to hear bout the damage, there are some pricks out there

All shopping centre carparks should have full camera surveillance in my opinion. I'd even pay a extra tax for this to happen. My car sports a major creasing of the rear quarter above the wheel arch from a carpark. No note, no cameras and nobody saw anything.

The only cheap and good paint jobs involve good mates who happen to be pro pain

My Wife parked our 50k old immaculate VY at a shopping centre about 5 years ago and when she got back there was a deep gouge on the near side rear door through to the rear.
We put it through insurance and it took seven trips to two panel/paint people to get it to about 80%. I gave up in the end and closed my eyes to the mess it was.
We could only assume it was one of those ugly as they call call them "tradie utes" with a bull bar on the front as the vile pig driving it left the space where he/her was. The gouge was the height of a bull bar to do that damage I'm quite sure.

Further to pigs in car parks (And that's too good to call them quite frankly) about 30 years ago I had a nice HQ Ute that I used for business. One evening I parked at a close by shopping centre to purchase something, and a woman pulled in beside me in a sh1t box old Volvo and as she opened the door she smashed it into my Ute. I very calmly told her if she had done that to me RR Silver Shadow I would have taken action against her using my lawyer. Of course this got her all fired up and ready for a fight, but I just drove off ignoring the vile pigs tirade.
Two weeks later I was in fact in the RR in same car park and in she came. I stood by the car and when she saw me she drove way over the other side away from where I was. I could go on about the type of smoking pig she was, but it would make no difference.......would it?
