What about the gear shift surround?
I reckon the brushed look would look pretty sweet there if it was done properly. :coolpimp:

auto :( though if you wanted to get fancy could do the area next to the hand brake and knock in a hole or two to suit drinks [ something the size of a pringles can to allow for either coke cans up to large HJ's cups. not sure what could be used as an insert though [ or could do a "double ring" bracket (brake level and say 5cm below) to brace the drink like that ]

Have you seen the scuffs on a VL, do you think these could be replicated?

I've spoken to a few people that weren't too confident on doing it. But I'm getting pretty keen on doing mine, as the stock vl ones aren't that good and they don't hold the carpet in place. I'd want just plain metal, you wouldn't even have to polish it, I'd take care of that. Anyway, let me know if you can or can't. I'll pay generously, and depending on the quality of the work I'm sure I could convince alot of people to join in.
