    Hi,

My VX drivers seat has a couple of nicks/tears in it either from when the seat map pocket was replaced before I bought it, or from abuse by previous owner. one is a 7mm round gouge, other is a 25mm gash. Spoils an otherwise immaculate, factory fresh interior. I have three options.....

    1. leave it (not preferred option)
    2. Replace seat back with good 2nd hand or new item
    3. Repair it with the seatback in place (am thinking of using a vinyl seat repair kit or even just putting small amount of correct shaded paint on exposed underneath plastic.

What would be the best course of action?

its just the normal wear and tear that leather seats would endure over a 10 year period. so if you want to fork out a few grand for some new lather go for it :)

OK, i meant that it was on the vinyl panel where the map pocket is. I have got a $30 seat vinyl repair kit, see if that does anything.

well that was $30 down the gurgler......bit the bullet, found a good seat back panel off a '98 VT. actually the same '98 VT that was mentioned in the thread about buildplate decoding. $50 to wrecker, plus $22 worth of clips from holden (got 4 of them, apparently they break frequently). All fixed now.
