Hey guys

Is it bad to put seat covers on leather? Will it wreck the leather or?
What's some good quality seat cover, I'd like the woolen ones!

I put the neoprene SS seat covers on my wife's SSV and was told to take them off straight away. Firstly, and I quote: "They look ugly, who said you could do that." Secondly, the fellow who treated the leather seats a short time later said car seat covers should never be used on leather. It causes more wear and tear than usual and car seat covers are designed to protect cloth seats not leather seats. Now we have a set of brand new, never been used neoprene car seat covers collecting dust in the shed. If I ever take an intrastate or interstate trip I'll use them then.

I had leather seats in my last car for 7 years, no need for covers if you keep them conditioned. They just wipe clean.

Also, seat covers on any car with side airbags need to be airbag compatible

I use the Holden fitted fake leather cover for my back seat as it is leather and suede and the kids make a hell of a mess but if it was just leather then I guess there would be no use. And I had it off the other day and it still looked brand new!

I've got the neoprene rear cover on mine and it appears to breath well enough to not damage the leather. Its saved the rear seat from the kid on-slought a few times. Bit of a prick to fit but looks the part with the two booster seats on the top of it.

I haven't covered the front seats but I would think covers would hurt the leather.

Alrighty I'll leave the covers off haha. I love the leather don't get me wrong, but I do get dirty at work sometimes so I don't want the seats to suffer

Get one of those snap on seat covers that you just lay over the seat takes two seconds.
