hi, just wondering, my vp has done about 265,000kms now and its running pretty good has some grunt, tempereature gauge doesnt go more than about quarter normally, and it doesnt get too hot anymore. as im selling it before long im wondering how much longer trouble free ill get out of the vp before something major goes wrong it because im gettting a ED Fairmont sedan 4.0L Auto,

and im hoping i dont have to keep fixing this one as im trying to save up and get the fairmont and i want as much money as possible to go towards the next car and i want this vp im selling to be trouble free atleast until i get my ed fairmont and im wondering how much longer ill get out of it trouble free.

what can i do without spending much money to make it last longer until i sold the car.

will it last another 12 months-3 years until it gives trouble or not. boot has a small water leek when you wash it in the car wash and the water pump went and power steering has been fixed but still has a slow leek in it and im wondering if i bought a magna or ford power steering cooler and dropped the fluid and put type f fluid in it if it would last longer because i thought of that.

i tried type f fluid in the vp pump instead of dx3 fluid and it was easy when i had that trouble that time and once it ran out it was hard again and was grinding but once the type f fluid was replaced it was good again.

Who knows man, it could be a freak and live till 1,000,000kms. Then again it may spin a bearing tmr morning. I would say it depends on its past life, how its been serviced etc. Who knows man, who knows.

run some engine flush through it next time your changing your oil. maybe a bottle of inector cleaner also when you fill up. keep checking all your oils. dont be hard on the girl. and she should be fine for another year.

"should" being key word as no1 can give you a definite awnser
