Sensor Cooling

Can I run my ecotec without the plastic shroud over the crank angle sensor?
I am trying to keep it cool, so it lasts longer.

I don't think it affects cooling more to stop damage it anything is sucked up from underneath or fluid contamination.

As above, the shroud is to protect it from foreign object damage but I see no reason why you can't remove it other than a slight increase in the risk it gets damaged.
