Serpintine belt wobble

    Hey just bought new tensioner assembly now my belt is wobbling up and down extremely between the alternator and the top idler pulley it's so bad that its making horibly loud noise what could cause this the belt is 2 months old repco one

    The bearing in the tensioner pulley could be gone.

    Its a cheap fix.

    It's brand spankin new put it on yesterday the new tensionerr came with pulley already on

    Ah sorry, missed that part.

    Check that you haven't over stripped the thread on the tensioner pulley bolt, as you know they are opposite thread and some people do damage assuming the bolt turns the other way.

    Perhaps it was not installed correctly?

    Did you tighten up the tensioner assembly evenly? Is the belt sitting on all the pulleys correctly/properly?

    Yes yes and yes the only pully that has slight give in it is the water pump but nearly any

    Are all the pulleys in line ? like if you stand beside the car and look across the front of engine is one pulley sitting out of line with the others ?

    Nope not that is noticble is it possible to stretch a serp belt or should the tentioner just take up the slack

    tensioner should control the tension. Doubt its stretched. Take it off and compare length to the old belt if you are worried.

    Can you post a short video of the belt wobbling and the pulleys ?

    Not rely cause its only doin it bad web pulling load a at idle it only slightly does it a
