The LS3 on my Redline is not sounding very healthy.

No misfires detected.

Started just before last oil change 1k km ago. I sieved the oil with a t-shirt and opened the oil filter. Couldnt see anything thing wrong.

I will start with the easy stuff and open the rockers cover.

Any guesses ?

Sounds like a sewing machine. I'm gunna guess lifter or rocker arm bearing.

How many Ks on the motor?

I'm putting my vote at the top end too. Also try and work some magic and see if you can get an inspection camera and check cam lobes and lifter rollers for score marks / flattening.

How does the LS3 manage the distance between the cam lobes & the lifters that operate them? I guess that might be called "valve lash" as I'm thinking about hydraulic lash adjusters, I had a car which sounded sewing-machiney due to needing a set of those.

Top and bottom? I think I can hear a rod bearing. Haven't had it since new? Possibly been run low on oil at some time and/or missed too many services with cheap/wrong oil and now it gets noisy when the oil is thin and worn. Was it sounding worse before the oil change?

There is no adjustable valve lash, same as any LS
It's pushrod length only and the plunger in the lifters - but this is not the distance between cam lobes and lifters

I own the car since new.
It was always serviced at the Stealership until the end of the 5 year warranty. The last service was done by me. The sound is the same as before the oil change.
