Update from the shop.

They checked with the scan tool and all the solenoids seams to be working. They reckon the filter could be bad causing a low oil pressure.

They will do a transmission service and let me know.

Having a look at some videos now i could have done that.

I was going to post, but held off. I did a Google search and found that cracked filters are a common fault on the 6L80e. It apparently causes air to enter the pump and then the rest of the box plays up. Apparently, the start up pressure surge can cause a shockwave through the neck of the filter and cause it to crack, and it happens more in colder regions. I wasn’t sure if that was applicable to the Commodore, and/or Australia.

They run 6L80s in Canada. Doubt it's from cold. Also pressure shock sounds weird being the filter is on the suction side.
Wouldn't be surprised to see 2 filter seals stuck up the inlet tube. That causes the filter to sit lower and crack the neck when the pan is bolted back up. Common fault.

If you can tune and change injectors you can definitely do trans filter etc change. It's pretty easy. THe hardest thing is getting the fill level right with car flat and trans between 30-50C, when the fluid needs to slow to a trickle but not as slow as a drip.

Trans dip stick upgrade fixes that :p

Not really as you need to have the car up and watching how it drips out, but once you get the level right you can scribe it on the stick, exactly like I have :)

That’s exactly how I envisaged it could be done to ensure the marks on the dipstick are in the perfect position. Either that or one can measure the drain position depth relative to the pan flange when the pan is dropped to change the filter. Then one can fit the dipstick tube and transcribe that measure to the dip stick before the pan is fitted.

Whichever way, it’s easy peasy to get the level prefect, the next time

The trans service seam to have done it.

I got the car back on the same day last night. The mechanic mention the oil was very dirty and recomended another flush in 5K to make sure it is clean.

Thanks to the guys at Ultra Tune Blacktown for the fast turn aorund time with short notice.

My boys BMW was the same. Sealed transmission, it just seemed to loose gears. Fluid was terrible, we dropped the fluid at home and refilled as per some youtube video and now it seems to be fine.

but same as you, we will do it again in a few months along with a new filter and call it good.
