After 12 years of owning rifles and shotguns I've finally decided to get into handguns, joined my local pistol club today, it's gonna suck being on the probationary licence for 1 year but it'll be worth it. Looking forward to some competitions. Anyone else have their handgun licence?

Looked into it, but too hard basket. Have to join a club, minimum shoots/comps required with club wankers, etc turned me off.

I've got my handgun licence.
Most the people at my club are good. My missus and I shoot together.
It's not that hard to keep your licence either. 6 shots minimum with the club a year and 12 shots maximum if you have 3 different types of guns. 4 of each.
Eg rim, centre, air.

Definitely not a hard requirement to meet if you enjoy it, and if you don't then why go thru the process in the first place.
Have you entered any comps outside of your club comps?
I'm shooting in my first in house match this sat morning

Haven't done any outside the club. Don't consider my self good enough yet. I did borrow another blokes gun the other week and broke grade. Used a Walther GSP Expert. Going to grab the PTA form tomorrow morning so I can pick one up asap.

What match are you shooting Saturday?

If I had my pistol license I'd love to get a Colt 1911 in .45 ACP. I think there's something classic about them that either a Glock or a H&K can't match.
