ive got an alpine 1507 and a 12"rockford dvc(dual 4 omh)
(well two, but trying to get one in the car for space reasons)
whats the best way to wire it?
i dont know the tech stuff but have installed simple stereos for years
without any probs but never played with dvc parrallel or series

depends how much each sub can take. it will run 225 watts x 2 @ 4ohms or 450 watts x 2 @2ohms. after you find out how much watts rms the each sub takes, you will know if you need to run the amp at 4ohm or 2ohm loads. to run at 2ohm load on a channel you can simply wire the coils in parallel but wiring them at 4ohm is little more tricky.

wiring a 4ohm DVC sub to a monoblock is impossible if you want the total impedance to be 4 ohms.

It's a 2 channel. If the amp is 2 ohm stable when bridged, wire the coils in parallel (join the +'s and join the -'s, then connect them to the amp bridged). If the amp won't run at 2 ohm when bridged, wire the coils in series (join a + from one side to a - from the other side then connect the spare + and - to the amp bridged.

thanks i think:confused:
cant find any info on 2 ohm bridged
just 2ohms x2 at 450wrms
the sub is rated at 1000wrms so i think ill give it a shot with 1 sub wired
in parrallel bridged(900wrmsx1?)at 2ohms this weekend
the system used to crank(145db)in my old car
profesionally installed but its been in the garage for a few years
and felt like blowing my ear drums apart again
but need boot space so the wiring has to change(sold the old box anyway)
what would you guys recomend
thanks all
