Noticed since the last update to iPhones in August that Siri eyes free (the long press on the steering wheel talk button) has stopped working properly. Mine used to just light up the little voice box on the Mylink screen but now the Mylink thinks the phone is on a call which causes all sorts of errors.
Tried restarting phone and repairing the bluetooth connection to no avail. Surely this has to be a phone thing, not anything with our Mylinks - I don't really want to unhook the battery from the car just to rest the radio. Has anyone else noticed this?

Long press on the talk button? Is there a difference between a short press and a long press?

Yep. Allows you to do things like request songs on Spotify e.g "Play Neil Young", or say "txt message" for hands free messaging. Works great as long as there is internet service.

Is this iOS 12.4.1? This is an update I have waiting on my iPhone, if this is the update that causes issues then I'll hold off!

Na I was on 12.4 when I noticed it. What version are you currently on snortings? If your on 12.4 does eyes free still work for you? If your on somthing lower be careful your phone doesn’t decide to fly under the radar and update automatically:eek:.

You can just say “Hey Siri” for the same effect as the steering wheel button.

Thank you Villn808. Forgot you could say that. Tried it on the way home to work and got Zilch so I sat in the driveway and watched the phone. Turned out some little fingers had played in the settings app and turned Siri off when they had my phone.

Word of advice to all with iPhones - the old school blue voice control screen doesn’t play well with our Mylinks...

My iPhone 6s was on 12.4, eyes free works fine for me - never had a problem with it.

I bought an iPhone XR today and it's iOS 12.4.1, I hope that doesn't stuff it up! I'll have to test it in the morning.
