Reported to the host, will await to hear back other than currently under investigation.

I noticed that it was slow earlier this morning, thought it was the fact it was just 6-00am

Only since we upgraded the speed of our internet. The speed test indicates it is double the speed but the website response shows it lags more than before.

PS. Editing this.
Not only does it lag for 30 seconds after pressing the post reply, it has double posted.

The host has determined a hardware issue.

Since then I logged into the server and noticed it failing database backups, bouncing between having space and having no disk space - which explains the odd behaviour.

Deleted backups which gives the server plenty of room so it should be interesting to see whether this resolves the issue.

As for the downtime each morning correct pretty sure it was about 4AM the database server is stopped to perform a full backup, have had issues previously doing this live.

Aha, so DDOS from Kiwis waking up interrogating what’s happening at Commodore mainland during scheduled backups.
Sink a boat, send a message they understand.
