slight engine clunk, help???

    hey all

    ive got a vn calais series 1, when your sitting inside and its idling yo can hear a bit of a clunking noise , i would not have a clue what it is , please if you know what could be wrong give ma a buzz???

    First step would be to check all the pulleys on the front of the engine. The most common is the harmonic balancer as it has a rubber insulator the wears out.

    bit hard to tell ya what the noise id without hearing it so your best bet is to go to a mech and see what they think

    yep without hearing the noise its really hard to tell.

    as said above the harmonic balancers on the vn as far as i have heard are a common issue so checking that out might help but seeing a mech ( if you have the skills do it yourself save the $$$ ) to strip it down and have a good look would be your safest bet
