It's an LS1 thing, all their grunt is up top. The best thing you can do to get your mid-high range a bit more balanced is fit some decent Tri-Y headers, high flow cats, and nice exhaust. After that I'd be looking at a bigger throttle body, VCM suite/LS1 edit, and a LS2 airflow meter to be installed whilst tuning (won't work without it, but makes for massive gains once it's tuned in).

The moral of the story is though, the front section of the standard LS1 powered SS exhaust (excluding VE), is extremely restrictive. :)

As a side note: 4 into 1 extractors are my pick, but they shift all the power up to the top of the rev range. (but that's how I like it.)

Edit: Don't forget to add a K&N aircharger intake to the shopping list! :)

Well there's where your slug comes from, heheh, I swear the added top end pull is worth it though.

$600 for an OTR intake. Provides the motor with cool fresh air, for more poke:

What you need to buy is:

Extractors , high flow cats, and a twin 2.5inch catback system
Buy an OTR (over the radiator) air intake
then have the car tuned without a MAF (MAFless tune)

Your car will never be the same again and your average fuel will go down,

It really depends on what air intake you are going to get, You could spend $500 on an Over The Radiator Cold Air Intake (OTR) or just spend $70 and get a GTS maf pipe. The OTR is going to give you about 3rwkw more, but it really makes a difference on the track and the road.
The K&N filter will give a little more poke but nothing to really go "WOW" over.

In regards to the tune. I would not even bother spending $500 on an LS2 maf, just get a mafless tune. It will give a couple of KW more and will be cheaper.

If you just want to bring the power down a little, just get a set of try-y headers.

Interestingly, i have seen a few dyno sheets where the car had stronger torque maps and more power with twin 2.25 than twin 2.5. Minux will agree
