Smoking battery!

i recently had to replace the belt tensioner, I don’t know what the hell ive done, but when I went to reconnect the battery, it started to smoke, obviously shorting, but it’s got me stumped! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you May have crushed a cable or similar.

Well it has to be your alternator its the only thing you removed, so either you put the wires wrong or you left the wire off..
