Gday,
Recently purchased a L67 VX Sedan and have been driving for a few days, today as I went to drive off from my driveway I heard a loud clunk only to discover that my ac compressor bolt housing had snapped in both places, and that it was only held in by one bolt , have bypassed it for now via a shorter belt, and luckily it’s going into winter, but I am now left with trying to make a decision about what I am going to do. So I pose a few question/s to you:
1. has this ever happened to anyone else/is it a common feature for these casings to brake?
2. After trying my best to research and find diagrams around the AC compressor I believe that these housing are a part of the block, is this correct?
3. And finally, what solutions do you recommend? The only fee I could come up with so far are to Buy a new block possible top swap eco job or just cut my losses sell her off and get something else?
Cheers guys
