What a nice Mechanic. Get a T joiner in brass and some fuel hose and clamps. Push the hose over the lip and clamp.

Tell the previous mechanic to fix it.

I can't believe that the mechanic left it like that. I would have thought that they would be obligated to fix it if they snapped it while they were working on your car.

Best if they get a mechanic out instead of breaking it themselves.

I think it was a backyard butcher job, no mechanic would leave it like that, hasn't even strapped it up. One hose has a spit been pushed on and the other broken.

Why would you, for $25 bucks you get a new one and fit it.

Might need to drive the car like straight away, waiting for parcels from Ebay can take up to a week. Good quick fix is think outside the box to get you back on the road, wont hurt still to buy the correct fitting in the longer term.

Yeah have to drive it ASAP, also was under the impression you have to drop the fuel tank to fit the genuine part

These are becoming brittle I remember when I was an apprentice you could pull on them hard. I broke one last year.

That is true i broke mine and you have to drop the tank to get to the other end on the line. it is a pain in the ar$e, but the only way i would be trusting "T" pieces and hose connectors. Just be careful when you are removing your fuel filter in the future
