So, i bought a thing. VX SS.

Hey guys,

Been awhile since ive popped up last being when got the family VF but now ive bought my own little v8

Here she is! (better photos will come eventually, these were quick snaps)

From night i picked her up








Picked her up on wednesday for a nice price of 7500 factory 6sp manual 5.7Ls of fun!

Shes a 2001 vx ss in quicksilver, 6sp, chassis has done 156xxx kms and the engine was replaced by holden at 45xxxkms so its only done 116xxx now which provides a very healthy and fun and to me is one of the cleanest VXs ive ever seen!

Only mods so far were done by previous owner with, tinted windows, a 2.5" redback catback and 18" monaro wheels.

Any opinions and advice is welcome, thanks guys!

Nice, i wonder how many engines got rebuilt/replaced in the VX's, mine was complete full rebuild at 70,000km, know a few others that have been rebuilt or replaced sub 80,000km.

Funny thing was it was the VT SII that had the worst issues.

BTW they are VT GTS wheels most likely from what i can see of em.

looks nice n tidy m8. yes alot of fun to drive but you will get used to the power hence why me and many others have upped the performance with more mods ( cam, mafless tune, otr, diff gears changed etc). Good pick up with the manual box. Have a browse through our build threads and you will get some more ideas.

Yeah ive heard a lot of them getting rebuilds/new engines.
Thanks mate i wasnt sure if was older monaro wheels or some form of hsv wheel, going to change them in due time anyway

Cheers mate! Yeah im content for now, get used to the car seeing as i havent owned a rwd sedan in awhile mostly smaller fwd hatches/a magna... but anywho yeah ill be sure to have a look for some inspiration!

So ive done a few things and had few parts rock up,

Bought some angels because i personally like them

And today had my TB and headers/highflows rock up

Headers covered in a lot of red dirt packaging wasnt very secure

Coming along nicely. Can I ask where you got the angel eyes? EBAY link or other? Any problems with them working properly as heard some people have issues with parkers not operatiing? Also heard they were
illegal in some states but not positive on that...

Yeah got them off ebay and ive had no problems Had no cop trouble in act or nsw for having them cause instead of parkers im using these and theyre on all day so 0 problems

well thats just sold me on those headlights, been watching em on ebay for awhile but never seen em in a VX.

One more thing to add to the every growing shopping list.
