hey guys i just bought a stock vz ss 5.7l and i want to unleash the beast within, i want an exhaust thats loud and sounds tough,but i want a really nice v8 note ,not just alot of noise , i have a few questions , and would appreciate any suggested exhausts that would suit what i want, does it matter what its made of? eg mild or stainless? is bigger better ? will 3 or 3.5 in make it sound better or just louder? would taking the centre mufflers out and replacing with pipe give me the sound i want? do you get what you pay for or can you get a good system for less?
first of all learn to use the search function in the top right of your screen this toppic has flogged harder then the buissness end of a hooker. ok on to the topic mild steal and stainless have very different notes to them. stainless sounds to me a bit tinny but also barks a bit more where as mild will give a deeper smoother sound. you do get what you pay for but in saying that you can get very good sounding systems fairly cheep( not_a_abba_fan sells manta exhausts and can ship them anywhere). ive heard a lot of bad stories about Xforce systems not fitting and require a lot of "massaging" to fit propperly. if you wan it to be loud but not sound like a wet fart get hi flow center mufflers and keep the rear resignators hope this helps
Most aftermarket/performance systems come with straight thru centre mufflers, changing to hotdogs helps and should make it cheaper and louder
