SO about 12 months ago a purchased a VX. It was a great car but sadly 5 months into our relationship i was going around a round about at night in a residental area and a dog bolted out the front of round out and i swerved to miss it and ended up hitting a power pole at about 60 km/h. (retarded). This was the 1st time i have ever crashed a car (####). Anyways i got the car home and the front was pretty munted with the radiator leaking...etc etetc. At the time i was studying so i didnt have the money to fix it. i kept it in my garage so i could fix it but ended up in a financial hole and ended up scrapping it before i had to move homes (this sucked). I sold it to some scrap metal dudes and i signed a paper saying they could own it/scrap it..i didnt hand the plates in but i binned them before sale. i didnt report the accident since no one was invovled and the car folded but the pole just giggled at me... my question is now that i have finally got a new car and im going to transfer ownership - will i get busted for not reporting the accident or handing in my plates. Do i just need to fill a form out and saying i sold it to the wreckers? i sold it 5 months ago, i have heard nothing from the police about the accident or about selling the car to scrap..i was going to just say it was a "lemon" and hope it has been scrapped by now. should i be worried when i go in to rego my new car? pls give me advice!! :boxing: p.s i bought it for 3500.
I wouldn't worry about the accident as it was never reported and nothing was damaged other than your car. The cops have better things to do than hang out at scrap yards checking if all damaged cars have been reported crashed. You should fill out a notice of disposal form for the RTA saying that the car was disposed of / wrecked or whatever you want to call it. You can possibly do this on the net ? or just go in to the branch. Forget about the accident, it never happened. You're lucky poles don't report you like the girl i ran into lol. Next time just nail the dog, they are softer than poles.
Well they have the plates you signed a form. So its there car They can do what they like with it. Did they pay you for it ?
