    Hey guys,

I've got this problem with my VY at the moment.

When I go to start the car (hot/cold/waiting for missus for 5 minutes) sometimes it fires then just dies, then when i start it again, it almost dies then the revs pick up. Now this is only happening rarely (once or twice a week).. and I can easily just start the car after the first time it stuffs up.

I will try the Battery but I think it'll be more than that.

It doesn't really worry me as it will keep starting, but I'm dreding the day it wont.

Any suggestions let me know. I maybe thought about the start motor but it starts then shuts off, wouldn't the starter motor be for cranking over not when it's started (but I'm probably wrong).

if its the starter motor it wouldnt start... and dont think its the batter either.

might be a sensor of some sort. what exactly does it do when you try start it.. does it have a little hissy fit then works fine or what!?

from the information my guess is crank angle sensor is on its way out.

Yeah I had a thought of that too.

Cameron, doesn't hesitate at all, just dies straight away then when i start it again, it cranks over straight away, but idle doesn't kick in about quarter of a second longer.. I dunno how to explain it, just takes a lil to kick in.

I know CAS is a problem amongst older Commodores, haven't heard much of them in the VY's.
