Sound Loss

So I've got an VE Commodore Omega MY09, done a solid amount of Ks and recently I've noticed the audio when playing music from the radio or AUX comes and goes, as in one moment it is loud and the next it goes soft and then after a while again it goes louder again.

This is all happening while driving.

Possible loose electrical connections? Any ideas or solutions?

I've seen on a few of these now the aux socket in the fascia has started to fail. On some I've been able to disassemble the fascia and resolder the socket and others have required replacement of the socket on the board.
