Hi guys,

I've got a 99 VT 3.8L Commodore and have only put a twin cutback exhaust on it.

I was wondering what else can be done to the car, except for putting on extractors to make it sound louder?

rip the old intake box out and out in a growler kit, they are about $500

U could take the rear section of the exhaust off...or remove the mufflers and put straight pipe in. Itll definately make it louder but itll probably sound like someone farting into a tin can after a bad feed of mexican. Best bet is to get extractors and a full system. I had a full twin 2.25" system made for my old hilux that i put a 3.8 commy donk in...sounded awesome. Even without extractors

Even straight out the headers or from the Y-pipe they're just noise, a 500 bbc with a full exhaust makes more noise and it has a beat..... then again a 253 sounds better than 3.8, built right has more go aswell.....

Cos u just know everything dont u? Get real mate... I can guarantee that u never heard the car, so dont sit there being a keyboard warrior and try to make out that u know for a fact that it sounded like ****.

I was very hesitant about having a system put on it due to almost every v6 commodore with an exhaust sounding raspy/tinny. But this really was crisp and sounded great

Louder ? ..as close as you can get to a short straight pipe. Legal ? 2.25 pipes and extractors.

Don't expect miracles tho. A stock ? engine can only do so much.

Dry ya eyes princess, considering the sound emitted relies on displacement and cam timing then there's bugger all you can do with a v6, there's not much there to start with if it's a stock engine.

U must have a very masculine sounding voice then...given that ur mouth has a large displacement and ur timing is pretty retarded.

U decided to read through a post that hasnt been updated in 2 days just to have another dig?....u must not be running on all cylinders if it took u that long rofl.

Wow, sorry to say but all my cylinders are firing fine. Another dig? I haven't called you any names, at least i'm not delusional and think either a rolux or a v6 is at all awesome.
I must apologise for the late reply, i just didn't bother looking at this thread again.
