    Hi all.
Just wondering what the go is of using a smaller rim size.
I hit something on the road last night and got a flat on my 245/45R18.
Now I had to use my spare which is a yellow mag with a limit of 80 km/h
This yellow spare is 235/45 R17. Obviously it rolls different, but because it was on the rear, do you guys think I could have wrecked something in the diff.... Left side fighting against
    Right side.
I did not realize thus until I got home..... 140 k down the road. Should have put it on front.
Of course nothing open till Tuesday

The spare is only 5% smaller than the normal size wheel so should be ok but if you are going to do lots of kms on it i would recommend you put it on the front.

Wont Worry it mate, i did it for well over that distance, no problems, they now use 10" donuts on most new cars that have at least 16" tyres standard now lol

    On a VT-VZ your 18's should be 235 or 245/"40"x18 not 45series.
45 series is what is fitted to VE series and usually fouls the spring seat on VT-VZ commodores.
btw 235/40x18 and 235/45x17 have the same rolling diameter so it's probably HSV just using up old stock of smaller wheels as spares.
