Just purchased new spark plugs (ngk) and new leads(eagle) and i was wondering if I need to buy heat shields for the leads or they don't need them? Thanks

Do you still have the factory leads with the heat shields on them ?
If you do, the heat shields should pull off the factory leads and fit onto the eagle leads.

Yep, as above, just re-use what you have.

Don't loose them.
I priced them from Holden a while back and they wanted around $30 ea for them.
So I made my own, out of some chrome tubing I had.
When you've got a 5 litre, it adds up.

If you have high quality leads, such as Magnecor, you won't need heat shields - on a V8 Commodore anyway, can't say for a V6. If you were installing large primaries - 1 3/4", 1 7/8" they might be useful as the boots/leads will be much closer to the exhaust.
