ive got a quick question.
recently my pioneer 6x9 (180w 3 ways)are crackeling when i turn it up. ive got a JVC HU and im not running any amp.
its like the sound it makes when you use a battery on the pos and neg to see which side of the car the wires run down.
any help would be appreciated or tips
cheers james

loose connection near/in the speaker probably. when the cone moves it vibrates the wire around and makes the connection drop out and reconnect, cracking.

ahh k cheers.
so a quick fix would be to solder the connections on to the back instead of having cripped connections.
and if it continues is it time for new speakers??
cheers

i would test the continuity of the speaker wire and then test the speaker. one of the tinsel leads may be rooted, and then hence replace the wire or replace/repair the speaker
