I love the idea but yeah Immortality is right they will struggle to have all the cars already on the road fitted with even an alcohol interlock under 1500 bucks. Therefore on cars not already fitted with the technology probably never will be.

From what I've read it's what Europeans are going to do.

They can't even get people too bring their cars in for the Takata recall.....someting that could kill them.

In fact WA State Gov has resorted to not renewing vehicle rego's for effected vehicles that haven't been dealt with. I believe around 190 cars so far.

Would hate to think it would get to that for this other gumph.

about time really, states are so addicted to speeding revenue it's not funny and all the while they say "speed kills". Easy fix, add a governor.

They will most like just limit the cars top speed, so speeding revenue will be safe not to mention mobile phone use, running red lights, failing to give way ect ect.....I do agree with booze lock though hopefully they will also work out a quick drug test method as well.....Oh and a mobile phone killer if switch on when in a private rego vehicle.......hell phones just should not work if moving Im sick of getting out of the way from texting lemmings....
