Speed Limits

Put simply, they're a joke.
Lowering the speed limit isn't the answer. We need more police on the road. full stop. It'll help a whole lot of problems, not just the one. But no one REALLY cares do they?
Ah well...
Oh.. and getting better drivers on the road, rather than allowing every tom dick and harry to get a licence when they dont even know what an indicator is, or where to find the break/accelerator

Yep, dead right - it always seems to be the driver's who think they are capable of driving at the extreme speeds who propogate the idea of higher limits.

In my earlier days, I believed that speed limits were stupidly low for me because I had completed an advanced driving course and that I should be entitled to drive at a higher speed than "ordinary" motorists.

Age cures that stupidity.
