Hi,
I'm having problems with my VQ cruise control. It's passed all the tests in the GMH manual except for the speed sender voltage. Holden say it should vary between be 0-12V as the back wheel is rotated at the CC pink and green terminals . I'm getting 8-10V.
My speedo works and there's no ECM fault logged.
Can anyone tell me if the 0-12V from the speed sensor is really achieved? Could the 8-10V be due to a bad sender? The green and violet/wiring in the system checks out for both continuity and shorts.
I welcome any ideas.

Time to correct a mistake in cruise control section of GMH VP/VQ factory manual Vol 6. Finally found a copy of Vol 4 of this manual- covering the 5 litre engine and its controls.
The Hall speed sender circuit on a VQ sends an 8-10 V pulsed signal to the trip computer. This is what my original and replacement senders did.
Only wasted $133 on a new speed sender which will now be tossed into the spares bin.
