Speedo failure

Hey guys I have vh commodore and having dramas with speedo the needle has gone all the way around hit the stopper and snapped needle in half now dosnt matter how fast or slow your going it constantly spins around any ideas on what has caused this

its very warn and prob noisy and sounds to be jammed up inside, either need to find another good one or get yours fixed which could be costly, may or may not also have cable issues caused by the speedo being in the state it is

If somebody has messed with odometer in the past they were known to play up & break eventually.
