Can anyone tell me where this is situated? i have to replace it to pass roadworthy.

I assume you mean the speed sensor Oring on an auto. It is towards the rear of the trans IIRC, on the passenger side. Its held in with one bolt and has a small harness, two or three wires connected to it.

Is it easy to change losh? Can an ameteur like me do it? or do you recommend it go to a mechanic?

Anybody can do it. Not a common place for a leak though - I would expect slipyoke seal would be more likely, but get under it and have a look anyway.

Yes like EYY said easy to do. One bolt and one plug and the sensor comes out. Slip a new o'ring on to the sensor and apply some Vaseline before pushing it back into the trans.
