Hey all, A while ago I broke the ribbon cable on the back of the cluster and did a quick patch up with wire and solder which fixed the issue (speedo not working), though hastily putting the cluster back ihe other day caused the soldered wire to become loose bridging two wires which would cause the indicator and hazard fuses to keep blowing (though speedo was working), I fixed the indicators but now the speedo won't work at all (even the trick with the speed alert doesn't show a speed) so I get the feeling a speed sensor if there is such a thing may be damaged. I notice this behaviour with the speed alert not showing the speed with the cluster in or out. I'm wondering, is it possibly a speed sensor, or the speed alert needs the cluster to be showing the speed (which it's not) which is causing the speed alert to not show anything as well?
Cluster is broken now, I know that - ribbon cable's had it. Used the ALDL cable and the speedo sensor is working perfectly, Guess I'll just get a new cluster and take it from there.
