Hi all, Have set my speed alert to digital speedo and have found that it is a different reading to the analog, for eg. at 100klms on the digital the analog reads 112klms/h and at 140klms/h on the digital tha analog reads 150klms/h. At the lower speeds it seems to read pretty close give or take a couple of klms but the higher the speed the more it go's out for eg. at 180-190klms/h it reads about 12-15klms/h out. just wondering which one to trust.
just want to Know if any one else has the same proplem & it would be handy to Know which one is more reliable.
I would stick with the analouge, it would be hard to explain to a cop that you were speeding because your hacked digital speedo was out. I remember reading somewhere here or maybe on the street commodores forum that if you adjust the number 100 that comes up when you first set the digital speedo mode then it will allow you to compensate for this problem.
hold both arrow buttons down when you trn the key to the on position. you can let go when you start the car. make sure u are holding both before you begin to turn the key or will not work. cheers
:coolpimp:   :cool2:  I gave Holden a call and they couldn't even help me, might just stick to the analog for now untill I can get it tested. Thanks any way guys.
i got the same problem but the utha way round. my digital says im doin about 8ks faster than my analog. so im a bit miffed bout it to. i think my digital is correct tho cause if u uses the analog i seam to pass most cars... dunno i just sit bout 5 under the speed according to my speedo. havnt as yet got a ticket...
my speed alert one says im goin about 5-10 ks faster then my norm speedo when im goin faster then 100. on the high way they had one of those speedo guns that shows ya speed an it said my normall speedo was 5ks slower. one day i might ask the local cop if he would mind clockin my speed so i no if its correct or not. would give him somethin to do seein he does *^&k all for the town. an is never seen. which isnt always a bag thing
ah yea for the guy in the berlina i dont think it works in them because it wont work for my mates berlina
In the vt/vx commodores the menus are accessed by holding down the up or down button while holding the mode button. Holding both up and down button gives a reset option. Holding up with the menu button while turning on the car gives a diagnostics option which you would need a manual to make sense of (otherwise it will seem like random codes). The down button with mode seems to give a more end user diagnostic with things like system voltage, operating temps, speed etc. Thats the vt/vx anyway. Dont know if thats similar to the vr/vs, never tried.
berlinas have a level 3 dash, where the over speed is integrated with everything else. on the executive based models, theres a seperate speed alert, where the controls for the trip computer would be on the berlina. everyone here is talking about the seperate speed alert on executives.
Found out that my digital speedo is correct and the analog is out, I asked a police van to clock me and we found that the digital speedo was spot on
geez, that's a bit sus. so all that time before you found out how to get the digital speedo you trusted the analog one? what about when you were following people on the highway, wouldn't you have been doing something like 110 when everyone else was doing 100. personally, i get so pissed when someone's doing 90 in a 100 zone... i would have thought the analog one was definitely right... Peter.
