I've recently been giving the VN's interior a bit out a touch up to match my black suede roof lining.. (It has the southern cross on it!!) I took out all my interior panels, gave em a sand and did over em with black and clear.. Turned out fine. Had to go to the wreckers and get new panels for the back corners though, I butchered them gettin them out. My bonnet was very faded when I got the car and I experimented with diff colours for fun. Scraped it off, buffed, and painted over whenever I felt like a new colour Haha. I couldn't find any good automotive paints that didn't cost an arm and a leg, so I settled on a dulux one, still pricy but was for metal etc.. Got rid of the crappy paint job, gave her a good sand and used that. A few coats of clear and it was smackin for a day. Planned to do over the whole car. Next morning I think someone has gotten a key and scratched all over it...... The paints actually cracked up!! It's still all smooth and that... Is it because we put the clear over it too quickly?? Or maybe temp conditions?? I know it rained the night before. Yanno what, everyones gone WHAT'D YA DO?!?! I say it's custom
lol what exactly do you mean the paint was for metal... when paint cracks its because the paint reacts with the clear or the paint under the clear wasnt dry and clear dried quicker than the colour.
You probably mixed enamel with acrylic, allways makes for fun times. And makes you hate the previoius owners that put enamel on anything
