Does anyone here use the SS Inductions Big Mouth CAI on their Gen 3? Is it any better than the stock setup?

lol...obviously people od not read. SS Reductions is not a good mod for an LS1. They choke the car, the $15 2 hole mod is much more effective. For the price of a SS reduction kit you can get a kickass OTRCAI setup for about the same price.

If it were me, i wouldn't waste my $$$$

Was just looking at that and wouldnt that way still suck restricted air from behind the head light where as this one that sits over the top of the radiator OTRCAI would suck free flowing air from directly in front of the car .....

Only reason i ask is from my old job where i used to fit snorkels to 4wd that sucking in unrestricted fresh air from outside the car was a lot better than from the factory spot that was right in front of the headlight.....

Just asking a ??????? not wanting to step on peoples toes

Depending on where you are most tuning shops sell them now, otherwise do a search on www.ls1.com.au.

Doing this setup and an SS setup i believe even on the new systems there were no differences, best bet is to go an OTRCAI with a mafless tune, great bang for bucks, the sound of the OTRCAI is mean, or, if you have money, do what i'd love to do, go a Harrop 8 butterfly inlet manifold :D Now that is tough.

I have just fitted the ss induction to the car

Now before you all say what a waste of time and money i got it for cheap off ebay so $$$ wasnt too bad and if it dont work then i will do the other mod

But had the battery off while i did it so it would reset the computer after also doing the zorst went to start the car and it wouldnt idle properly so checked all the sensors in that area were plugged in and they were so had a few more goes at it and vroooooommmm away she goes......

So took it for a spin i reckon it has a bit more get up and go (but i have been driving a v6 for the last week or 2 ;) ;) ;) ;) )

My only ????? is when i pull up to a stop with the car still in drive i think it seems to idle a bit lower could this be or is it just me............

I pulled my SS inductions kit off(Got it for free with my exhaust) and went back to stock and found that the only real benefit was the noise they produced.
My car goes harder in stock cai form..

When i get my LS1 edit i will be going OTRCAI at the same time.
